The Chimes

The Chimes tells the story of Toby Veck, a poor messenger who is tasked with delivering a message on New Year’s Eve. During the night, he is lured into a church belfry by the sound of the chimes and enters a dream-like state where he sees the harsh realities of the wealthy and the consequences of their actions on the poor, including his daughter, Meg. He awakens to find his dream was a warning, but the reality of their struggles is ultimately resolved by kindness.
